Go Ministries is going on mission to East Africa!!!  Come, serve with us as we journey to Githurai Kimbo, a village on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. Kenya is an awe-inspiring, diverse nation full of natural beauty through its landscape and wildlife. In the south is the Masai Mara National Park and to the west is Lake Victoria. With Mt. Kenya to its north, Githurai Kimbo is a densely populated slum, located along the Thika Road approximately 15 kilometers (10 miles) from Nairobi.  Within this great nation there is also a beautiful people group, a people who need hope, hope that can only be found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Come be a part of our team and partake of the many opportunities to share the reason for the hope that is within you!

TRIP DETAILS:     The team will minister in and around Githurai Kimbo, Kenya. Working in partnership with Kimbo PEFA Church, we will have the following ministry opportunities:

  • Minister in local schools – team of teachers will teach core subjects, as well as Bible lessons; another group will conduct "field day" activities. A treat for the children as they don’t have recess or physical education. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16
  • Minister in an orphanage – teaching Bible lessons, sharing the Gospel, loving on and playing with the children. Purchase and deliver needed supplies/food for the orphanage. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
  • Minister to the poor and needy – purchase and deliver food to the less fortunate in the village. Team members will have the opportunity to share the Gospel and pray with those we visit. “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”  Isaiah 58:10
  • Teach a Pastor’s Conference - teaching local Pastors the 30 Life Principles of Dr. Charles Stanley.  “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
  • Minister at PEFA Kimbo Church – will minister in and around the church as opportunities arise. “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season . . .”  2 Timothy 4:2

Prerequisites

  1. Complete and submit GMI Mission Trip Application
  2. Submit $150.00 Non-refundable deposit
  3. Submit scanned copy of passport photo & signature pages
  4. Submit a scanned copy of passport photo
  5. Complete and submitt Confidential Screening Form
  6. Complete and submit Mission Trip Release Form
  7. Two Character Reference Forms submitted
  8. Cost of Trip paid in full
  9. Submit Medical Release Form, if necessary

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible to raise individual cost of trip in full
  2. Responsible to accept ministry assignments from Team Leader and participate in all ministry opportunities

Restrictions

  1. Must be 18 years old or older, unless accompanied by parent
  2. Must have valid passport with at least 6 months remaining
